which place do you want to stay the place used to go or something new?  two restaurant give a good chance to know yourself a stable person or explorer. the one restaurant is 시천주  it means a pond filled with phoem and alchol. the other is 민가네헌 which is in one of the royal family'민' house which was built over 100years ago.

 both restaurants located in Insadong has korean traditional street.
And also they keep to run in 한옥, korean traditional house. 시천주's house was for ordinary noble house that was built this area at first. similarly,민가네헌's house also 한옥. it was rebuilt a little part for kitchen but it still gives us the full of ancestral atmosphere.

although they seems to be similar restaurant, the the inside is totally different.
in 시천주,as you espect, customers seat down on floor as common style. and buch of traditional vintage furniture and decorative stuff  make the grandma's memorable house feeling.and it sells ordinary korean cuisine like 비빔밥,된장찌개,막걸리, and so one. but they have philosophy not to use non-artificial flavor and sauce. and give variouse kind of side dishes a little quantity for not making food waste. the taste is real
homestead especially 된장;soy bean sauce.
on the other hand, in 민가네헌, '민'family who had used this house got interested in western culture. so
there're some hidden morden elements inside. for example,customer seats on chair with light of chandelier. the owner catched the charactor of the house, as unexpected beauty of well balanced estern-western fusion style, 민가네헌 sells western cuisine like high quality-steak and wine. it means customer enjoy their meals with exotic and traditional feeling.

 even though their outward appearance similar, the charactor is strongly different each other. 시천주 give you  deep korean cuisine with stable and comfortable mood. and 민가네헌 is good for a explorer to feel unfamilier but intriguing mood. it depends on you. help your self.
